Welcome to Year 5

The teachers in Year 5 are Mr Brown, Miss Fletcher, Mr Hope and Mrs Rowlands.  Other members of staff are Mrs Channer, Mrs Hitchman, Mrs Rutherford, Mrs Senter, Mrs Smith and Mrs Wilson.

The children in Year 5 have had a fantastic start to the year and to our exciting new topic: The Ancient Greeks. We launched our learning with a full-day immersive workshop that brought Ancient Greece to life!

During the day, we:

• Discovered the Ancient Greek Creation Story and explored the myths that shaped their beliefs.
• Learned about daily life for boys and girls in Ancient Greece and how it differed from today.
• Investigated the lasting contributions the Ancient Greeks made to the modern world.
• Played traditional Greek games and even tried out some of the weapons and armour used in battle!

It was a fun, educational, and inspiring day that has sparked lots of curiosity and enthusiasm for our topic. We can’t wait to continue our journey through Ancient Greece!
